Thanks for sharing the article. I concur with many observations. In fact, in my pilgrimage through India in these last 3 years since returning from Chicago, I have keenly observed the state and our people. One of the main issue is food security for all - development economics has shown income growth (higher salaries/returns) for the employed section of society but is resulting in food price inflation (one reason is: cost of employees are going up) ... thus pushing unemployed ones or those whose income hasn't grown towards Non-affordability of basic food commodity leading to starvation. This unevenness needs to be addressed immediately.
NREGA, Public Distribution (PDC) are all in this direction.
